DSC_0187 (1)BMW and Nissan announced that the two automakers have expanded their network of fast chargers for Nissan Leaf and BMW i3 vehicles.

The two partnered with EVgo to install 174 additional 50kW DC Fast charging stations across 33 states. The chargers are compatible with any electric vehicle including the Nissan Leaf and the BMW i3.

In addition, the two companies said that an additional 50 dual-port DC Fast chargers are scheduled to be installed across the country by the end of the year.

Both Nissan and BMW are adding the new chargers to support long-distance travel with electric vehicles in the United States, something that has been an elusive goal in much of the country due to a lack of public charging stations. The two first launched a joint network of 120 DC Fast charging stations in December 2015.
