With the addition of a fourth status level, Platinum Pro, and the move of the airline’s Concierge Key invitation-only status to a formal elite tier above Executive Platinum, American Airlines said it was adjusting its boarding process to match the changes.

Boarding will continue to start 30 to 50 minutes prior to departure, depending on the flight and size of the aircraft.

The carrier will invite ConciergeKey members to board first, followed by first-class passengers and members of the military. It will continue with business-class passengers and passengers with Executive Platinum or oneworld Emerald status, followed by Platinum Pro, Platinum, and oneworld Sapphire members.

Next up will be AAdvantage Gold and oneworld Ruby members, followed by AirPass and Priority travelers.

After these six groups, the airline will board Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, and Group 4, although it might want to reconsider the numbering of these groups to Groups 7, 8, 9, and 10.
