Southwest Airlines Reports Record Load Factor for Month of November

DSC_0495Southwest Airlines announced operational results for November 2016.

The carrier’s total system traffic was 10.442 billion RPMs, or revenue passenger miles, a year-over-year increase of 7.2% from 9.743 billion RPMs in November 2015.

The airline reported a total system capacity of 12.274 billion ASMs, or available seat miles, up 4.9% from 11.702 billion the previous November.

Meanwhile, Southwest had a record load factor for the month of November, at 85.1%, a 1.8 percentage point increase from 83.3% the preceding November.

Southwest also forecast a drop of 4% to 5% in RASM for the fourth quarter of this year.
