A truck driven by an unknown driver plowed through a Christmas market in Berlin, Germany Monday evening, killing nine and injuring approximately 50 people.

Although it has not been confirmed whether this was an act of terror or merely an accident, police are speculating that it was a deliberate attack.

The incident is reminiscent of the attack in Nice, France in July that killed more than 80 people.

The Christmas market is located in Breitscheidplatz in western Berlin.
