Aeromexico Debuts Aerobot Facebook Chatbot
Aeromexico introduced its Facebook-based Aerobot chatbot on Tuesday.
Aerobot is available in English and Spanish and the Mexico City-based airline says it is the first North American airline to offer such a service.
The chatbot will provide arrival and departure information via the Facebook Messenger interface and it will also search for Aeromexico and partner flights and provide schedules and pricing. It also provides answers to frequently asked questions such as what documents are required for travel and how many bags a passenger may check.
While the system cannot complete a transaction, it will transfer the user to the airline’s mobile-friendly website.
In October, Austrian Airlines introduced a similar service, MyAustrian Virtual Assistant, and Lufthansa followed in November with a chatbot named Mildred.
