JetBlue invites its Mint passengers and Mosaic-level True Blue members to board first, followed by passengers in the Even More Space premium economy-lite section. Boarding was very orderly and quick and I was down the jetbridge and at my seat, 1F, in minutes.

The inaugural flight pushed back from the gate two minutes early, at 7:28 a.m. and we were wheels up at 7:54 a.m., six minutes later than originally planned.

After takeoff we proceeded due west over Massachusetts continuing in a southwesterly course over parts of Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois.

Our route then took us over central Missouri and Kansas, the northwestern most tip of Oklahoma, northern New Mexico, and Arizona. After five hours and 20 minutes aloft, we entered California airspace and began our descent into Los Angeles International Airport.

JetBlue Flight 287 landed at 10:45 a.m. local time, exactly on schedule, and was at the gate seven minutes later.

The Mint cabin is offered on a subfleet of the airline’s Airbus A321 jets. My seat, 1F, was in the bulkhead row.
