DSC_0251 (1)Dozens of Hertz employees in San Francisco are planning to go on strike come Monday.

The 156 car shuttlers at the rental car agency’s location at San Francisco International Airport are protesting a planned layoff. Car shuttlers transport vehicles to and from the rental center.

Hertz has announced it will outsource their positions to another company, according to officials at the Teamsters Local 856, who are helping the workers organize their own union.

The layoffs are scheduled to go into effect on Monday as well, the union said in a statement. The shuttlers said they have requested a postponement that would give them time to meet with Hertz in an effort to convince the company to reconsider.
