American Airlines this week released version 4.9 of its iPhone app and added support for iOS stickers. The colorful messages utilize Apple iOS 10’s sticker feature. Stickers are similar to emojis but can be dragged to any part of a conversation in Messages.

The move follows Delta’s introduction of a separate sticker pack in September.

Promising they will help keep friends and family “informed and entertained,” the airline included accomplishment-oriented animated stickers such as “Landed” and “Made it through security.” Also included are personal messages such as “Miss you already” and “Can’t wait to see you,” as well as requests such as “Call me when you land,” which should probably be “Text me when you land” if not “Text me from the flight.”

A staff favorite is the movie screen countdown, which a passenger could presumably use to inform friends that he is about to watch a movie and does not wish to be disturbed.
