Westin Cairo Golf Resort and Spa Katameya Dunes Opens in Egypt

Marriott International announced the opening of a new Westin hotel in Cairo, Egypt. The Westin Cairo Golf Resort and Spa Katameya Dunes is located in the residential community of Katameya Dunes, which boasts of a 27-hole golf course.

The property offers 135 guestrooms and suites, while the lobby has an art installation of white doves that hang from the ceiling.

The hotel hosts an indoor plunge pool as well as a heated outdoor pool. The 32,291-square-foot (3,000-suqar-meter) Heavenly Spa by Westin includes 10 therapy rooms, two couples suites, a steam room, and sauna.

A fitness center is located on the premises, and the hotel provides three- and five-mile jogging trails through the surrounding neighborhood.

Guests have three dining options available, Paloma, a Mediterranean restaurant; a pool bar; and a golf club bar.

Marriott merged with Starwood Hotels and Resorts last month, bringing together Marriott, Courtyard, and Ritz-Carlton brands with Starwood’s Sheraton, Westin, W, and St. Regis properties. Marriott is currently the world’s largest hotelier.
