DSC_0327Virgin Australia announced that it will launch new service between Melbourne, Australia, and Los Angeles on April 4 of next year. The carrier also plans to begin service between Perth and Abu Dhabi on June 9, 2017.

The airline will operate its Melbourne-Los Angeles service five times a week, using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, while it will offer Perth-Abu Dhabi flights three times a week using Airbus A330-200 aircraft.

To make room for the flights, Virgin Australia will discontinue its thrice-weekly Sydney-Abu Dhabi flights on February 4, 2017. The carrier will also decrease its service between Brisbane and Los Angeles from seven to six flights a week on April 7.

Delta Air Lines is a joint venture partner of Virgin Australia, and the airline will add Virgin Australia’s Melbourne-Los Angeles route to its network when the flights begin.
