DINING

The hotel’s restaurant, Atrio, is located just off the lobby, and offers Mediterranean fare with a New York twist. My dinner there began with a garden salad, which consisted of lettuce, tomatoes, large chunks of bleu cheese, and sliced apple. The cheese and apples lent a pleasant touch to the dish.

For the main course a strip steak, smothered in mushroom sauce with peppercorns, was served with potatoes and jalapeños. The steak was cooked to perfection.

For dessert I had crème brûlée, which was rich and tasty, and I only wished the portion had been larger.

For breakfast the next morning, I tried the Belgian waffles, accompanied by apple wood smoked bacon. The waffles were served with butter and berries, and were decadent and delicious down to the last bite.

BOTTOM LINE

Ever since my colleague Dan Collins stayed at this property, I’ve been intrigued by it and wanted to visit. I finally got my wish, and I was not disappointed. The all-suite setup makes for a comfortable stay, and, whether for business or leisure, I will definitely be returning to the hotel soon.
