Flywheel Software said Thursday that its mobile taxi software, known as TaxiOS, has gone live in New York City taxicabs.

The software includes support for e-hailing as well as a virtual meter and credit card payment capabilities. It also supports splitting fares among multiple passengers.

TaxiOS will be installed in more than 1,000 yellow cabs by the end of 2016 and is partnering with Taxi Club Management, one of the largest taxi fleet companies in the city.

The company itself was founded in 2009 and has raised almost $40 million in venture capital.
