Under the agreement, Japan Airlines will be able to place its code on Iberia’s flights between Madrid and Tokyo Narita, which are set to begin on October 18.

Flights are scheduled to depart Madrid at 1:20 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and arrive in Tokyo at 9:35 a.m. the next morning. From Tokyo, flights will depart at 11:20 a.m. on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Mondays, and arrive in Madrid at 6:30 p.m.

Beginning September 21, Iberia, Japan Airlines, British Airways, and Finnair will offer joint fares on the Madrid-Tokyo route.

Japan Airlines first began a joint business arrangement with British Airways in October 2012. Finnair later joined the partnership in April 2014, and Iberia will officially become a part of the venture when its new Madrid-Tokyo service begins on October 18.
