United to Launch Service From San Jose to Chicago, Newark

DSC_0281United Airlines and Mineta San Jose International Airport announced that the carrier will begin new service from the California airport to both Chicago and Newark on March 9, 2017. The airline will offer twice-daily service to Chicago O’Hare International Airport, and one daily flight to Newark Liberty International Airport.

Flights to Chicago will depart San Jose at 6:40 a.m. and 1:50 p.m., arriving at 12:48 p.m. and 7:55 p.m. From Chicago, flights are scheduled to depart at 8:55 a.m. and 7:15 p.m., and arrive back in San Jose at 11:29 a.m. and 9:51 p.m.

Flights from San Jose to Newark will depart at 6:30 a.m. and arrive at 3 p.m. Return flights are scheduled to depart at 4:05 p.m. and arrive at 7:40 p.m.

United will operate both new routes using Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The planes have 16 seats in first class, 54 in economy plus, and 96 in economy. First-class seats are 21” wide and have a pitch of 36”.
