DSC_0627Air Berlin announced that it will begin offering business class seats and service on short- and medium-haul flights in Europe later this year. The carrier currently offers a business class section only on its long-haul flights.

The new business-class section will be comprised of the first row of the cabin. Passengers will be guaranteed an empty middle seat and 32” of legroom. The seats will be otherwise the same, as is fairly standard on intra-European flights.

A complementary drink will be offered, and passengers will be able to choose from an on-board menu for additional food and beverages. Passengers will also be given a pillow.

Business-class passengers will also have priority boarding, priority check-in desk, dedicated security lane, and access to the carrier’s lounges. Air Berlin business-class passengers can rebook at no additional cost, or have their ticket refunded in the event of a cancellation.

In addition to the rollout of business class on short- and medium-haul flights, Air Berlin will also begin offering new food and drink options in economy class on short- and medium-haul flights later this year.
