Virgin America to Add Extra Flights From Newark to LAX, SFO

Virgin America announced that it plans to increase service from Newark to both Los Angeles and San Francisco starting November 18. At that point, the airline will offer four daily non-stop flights to each of the two cities from Newark Liberty International Airport. It currently offers three to each destination.

Flights will depart Newark at 8 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 4:05 p.m., and 5:59 pm., and will arrive at Los Angeles International Airport at 11:15 a.m., 3:40 p.m., 7:20 p.m., and 9:15 p.m., respectively. From Los Angeles, flights are scheduled to depart at 7 a.m., 8:45 a.m., 12:40 p.m., and 10:20 p.m., arriving in Newark at 3:10 p.m., 4:55 p.m., 9 p.m., and 6:30 a.m. the next morning.

Flights from Newark to San Francisco International Airport will depart at 7:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 5:25 p.m., and 7 p.m., and will arrive at 10:40 a.m., 2:25 p.m., 8:50 p.m., and 10:25 p.m. Flights from San Francisco to Newark will depart at 8:05 a.m., 9:40 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and 9:50 p.m., arriving at 4:30 p.m., 6 p.m., 10:45 p.m., and 6 a.m. the next day.

The new routes come as a result of the Federal Aviation Administration’s recent approval of Virgin America’s request to operate two additional flights a day to Newark.
