Each seat is 19”wide with a seat pitch of 46”. While the seat operation is manual, it is fully adjustable and has a foot and leg rest as well as an adjustable headrest. The recline is more than sufficient for sitting, dining, working, and relaxing but I would have preferred a lie-flat or near lie-flat seat for the nighttime flight. However, at the price Norwegian charges – today the price for a round-trip in Premium in mid August would be $1,372 while Delta’s fare for the same non-stop trip is $6,792, roughly five times the cost.

The lavatories are on the small side but have contactless commodes and faucets. There are two lavs for the exclusive use of Premium-cabin passengers.

IN-FLIGHT SERVICE

While the seats may be a compromise compared to business, the airline’s in-flight service is not. The cabin chief on this flight, Jackie, came around to each passenger and introduced herself. This was followed by a round of in-flight beverages – water or juice – offered on a tray elegantly festooned with napkins.

Once we attained our cruising altitude of 41,000 feet (one of the many things I like about the Dreamliner is that it generally flies above any weather), the cabin crew began the dinner service.

First, drinks were offered, a variety of wine, beer, soda, and water. This was followed by a choice of entrée and Jackie provided restaurant-quality information about each, something I later found is a company standard.

I opted for the steak, which was accompanied by mashed potatoes, sautéed green beans, and warm breads. The steak was tasty and served medium. The dessert – a slice of chocolate cake – was quite good. The entire meal – including a salad and dessert – was served in a box. A bit unorthodox but it was an efficient way of delivering the meal quickly and allowing for maximum sleep time.
