IHG to Debut New Hotel In Houston

InterContinental Hotels Group announced that it will open a new hotel in Houston in 2018. The InterContinental Houston Medical Center will be located adjacent to the Texas Medical Center, the world’s largest medical complex.

The 21-story hotel will have 353 guestrooms, including 37 suites. A fitness center and outdoor pool will also be located on the premises.

The property will offer 11,800 square feet (1,096 square meters) of meeting and event space, including a 7,800-square-foot (724-square-meter) grand ballroom. The hotel will also have an InterContinental Club Lounge, as well as a restaurant and bar.

The Texas Medical Center consists of 21 hospitals, ten academic institutions, three medical schools, two pharmacy schools, and a dental school. The complex is situated on 1,345 acres (544 hectares).
