Alaska Airlines to Begin Service to Newark from Portland, San Diego, San Jose

DSC_0684-EDAlaska Airlines announced that it plans to launch new service in the fall and next spring to Newark, New Jersey, from three West Coast cities. Additionally, the carrier will be adding a third daily flight between Newark and Seattle, Washington.

On November 10, Alaska will begin daily flights between Portland, Oregon, and Newark Liberty International Airport. Flights will depart Portland International Airport at 6:55 a.m. and arrive in Newark at 2:55 p.m. From Newark, flights will depart at 3:55 p.m. and arrive in Portland at 7:05 p.m.

This will be followed by the inauguration of daily service between San Diego, California, and Newark on November 21. Flights will depart San Diego International Airport at 9:55 a.m. and arrive in Newark at 5:55 p.m., while flights from Newark to San Diego will depart at 7 p.m. and arrive at 10 p.m.

Beginning on March 12, 2017, the carrier will offer daily service between San Jose, California, and Newark with flights departing Mineta San Jose International Airport at 6:30 a.m. and arriving in Newark at 2:55 p.m. Flights from Newark to San Jose will depart at 4:05 p.m. and arrive at 7:40 p.m.

On May 14, 2017, Alaska will add a third daily flight to its Seattle-Newark route. Flights will depart Seattle-Tacoma International Airport at 11:50 p.m. and arrive in Newark at 8:06 a.m. the next day, with return flights scheduled to depart at 9:30 a.m. and arrive at 12:25 p.m.

Alaska will operate the new flights using Boeing 737 aircraft.
