American Express Global Business Travel and Airbnb announced a partnership to allow the integration of Airbnb bookings into a company’s corporate travel management platform.

The partnership requires that American Express set up a corporate customer with Airbnb, thus facilitating individual travelers to book lodging directly on Airbnb’s website using a corporate e-mail address.

The Airbnb reservations system will be accessible to corporate travel managers through the corporate travel platform and individual travelers will have access as well. The move gives corporate travelers access to more than two million Airbnb hosts and homes across the globe, and the ability to enjoy a city or town like a local by making it possible for large corporations to include Airbnb in their travel policies.

“Business travelers want the freedom to choose accommodations that align with their personal and professional tastes” said Wes Bergstrom, American Express Global Business Travel’s vice president for global supplier relations.
