Southwest Begins Long Beach-Oakland Route

DSC_0208Southwest Airlines announced the launch of new service between Long Beach and Oakland, California. The carrier will operate the service four times a day, using Boeing 737-700 aircraft.

Flights will depart Long Beach Airport at 7 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 2:15 p.m., and 5 p.m., and arrive at Oakland International Airport at 8:20 a.m., 11:50 a.m., 3:35 p.m., and 6:20 p.m., respectively. From Oakland, flights are scheduled to depart at 8:35 a.m., 12:20 p.m., 3:05 p.m., and 7:35 p.m., and arrive in Long Beach at 10 a.m., 1:45 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 9 p.m.

Southwest’s 737-700s are equipped with 143 seats in a one-cabin configuration. Seats are 17” wide, and have a pitch of 31”.

The new service is the airline’s first to operate out of Long Beach, which is Southwest’s fifth Los Angeles gateway airport, and its 10th California airport.
