Alaska Reports Increase in May Traffic

DSC_0684-EDAlaska Air Group announced operational results for May 2016.

System-wide traffic for Alaska Air Group, expressed in revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, increased by 11.6% year-over-year, up to 3.12 billion RPMs from 2.8 billion in May of 2015.

Capacity was 3.68 billion ASMs, a year-over-year increase of 11.3% from 3.31 billion ASMs.

System-wide load factor for the month was 84.7%, a 0.2 percentage point increase from May 2015’s load factor of 84.5%.

The company only released consolidated results and did not break down reporting between Alaska Airlines, Horizon Air, SkyWest, and PenAir.
