Air China to Begin Shanghai-San Jose Route

DSC_0254 3Air China announced that it plans to begin new service between Shanghai and San Jose, California on September 1 of this year. The carrier will operate the route three times a week, using Airbus A330-200 aircraft.

Flights will depart Shanghai at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and will arrive in San Jose at 10:40 a.m. the same day. From San Jose, flights are scheduled to depart at 12:30 p.m., also on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, arriving back in Shanghai at 4:40 p.m. the next day.

Air China’s A330-200s are equipped with 30 lie-flat seats in the business-class cabin and 207 seats in economy class. Business-class seats are 21” wide, and have a pitch of 80”.

San Jose will be the carrier’s tenth gateway in North America, after Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Newark, Washington Dulles, Houston, Honolulu, Vancouver, and Montreal.
