Air Canada Begins Montreal-Lyon Route

DSC_0990Air Canada announced the launch of new service from Montreal to Lyon, France. The route is the only year-round non-stop service between North America and the French city.

The airline will operate the service five times a week during the summer and four times a week in winter. Summer flights from Montreal will take place on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays and flights from Lyon on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Winter flights from Montreal to Lyon will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with flights from Lyon taking place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Montreal-Lyon flights will depart at 9:15 p.m. and arrive in Lyon at 10:25 a.m. the next morning. From Lyon, flights are scheduled to depart at 12 noon and arrive in Montreal at 2 p.m.

The airline will operate the service using Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, equipped with 24 suites in business class and 187 seats in economy. Business-class suites are 20.4” wide, and have a bed length of 75”.

Earlier this month, Air Canada began service from Toronto to Budapest, Glasgow, and Warsaw, as well as from Vancouver to Dublin and Montreal to Casablanca.
