Wyndham Rewards Reinvents Itself with New Status Tiers and Local Experiences
Wyndham Hotel Group announced a revamping of its Wyndham Rewards guest loyalty program. The changes include four new membership levels and a new local experience program.
The program is introducing Membership Levels, Blue, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond, as well as rollover nights towards the next reward. The new local experience program is available at the hotelier’s top 25 destination cities.
Local experiences will include indoor sky diving in Orlando, a walking pizzeria tour in New York City, a Niagara Falls boat tour, luncheon in Toronto, a desert safari in Dubai, a tour of the Kreuzberg district’s food, art, and culture in Berlin, and a gastronomic tour of Mexican cuisine in Mexico City.
New members are given Blue status when they join and will continue to receive the current ten points per dollar or 1,000 points on all qualified stays as well as go free award nights with no blackout dates. Blue-level members receive free Wi-Fi at all properties and a credit of $5 per award night redeemed towards a local experience.
Gold members, a level reached after five qualifying nights, get all Blue-level parks as well as an upgrade to a preferred room, late check-out, a dedicated member services line to call, and a $10 credit per award night for a local experience.
Guests who achieve Platinum status with 15 qualifying nights get all Blue and Gold perks as well as early check-in, an annual 3,000-point bonus, and upgrades at Avis and Budget car rental locations.
The top level, Diamond, which requires 40 qualifying nights to achieve, get all Blue, Gold, and Platinum benefits as well as upgrades to suites, a welcome amenity, an annual 6,000-point bonus, and the ability to gift Gold status to a friend. Diamond guests also receive two free tickets or passes for a local experience.
The new Membership Levels go into effect May 18.
