Southwest Sees Highest Ever April Load Factor

DSC_0208Southwest Airlines announced operational results for April 2016.

The carrier’s total system traffic was 10.359 billion RPMs, or revenue passenger miles, a year-over-year increase of 4.7% from 9.898 billion RPMs in April 2015.

The airline reported a total system capacity of 12.426 billion ASMs, or available seat miles, up 4.3% from 11.912 billion last April.

Meanwhile, Southwest saw its highest April load factor to date, 83.4%, which was a 0.3 percentage point increase from 83.1% the previous April.
