Southwest Reports Increase in March Traffic, Capacity

DSC_0493Southwest Airlines announced operational results for March 2016.

The carrier’s total system traffic was 10.875 billion RPMs, or revenue passenger miles, a year-over-year increase of 6.2% from 10.240 billion RPMs in March 2015.

The airline reported a total system capacity of 12.852 billion ASMs, or available seat miles, up 6.1% from 12.113 billion last March.

Meanwhile, Southwest saw its highest ever March load factor, 84.6%, which was a 0.1 percentage point increase from 84.5% over the previous March.
