Qatar Airways Doubles Doha-New York Frequency, Adds Airbus A350 to Route

Qatar Airways announced the expansion of service between New York and Doha with a second daily non-stop flight between the two cities. The carrier is operating the additional flight using Airbus A350-900 aircraft.

The additional flight departs Doha’s Hamad International Airport at 2:25 a.m. and arrives at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport at 9:15 a.m. the same day. From New York, the return flight departs at 11:15 a.m. and arrives in Doha at 6:45 a.m. the next morning.

Qatar’s A350-900s are equipped with 36 lie-flat seats in business class and 247 seats in economy class. Business-class seats are in a 1-2-1 configuration, each with direct-aisle access, a width of 22”, and a bed length of 80”, as well as a 17” HD entertainment screen.

Seats in economy class are 18” wide, with a pitch of 31” to 32” Each seat has a 10.6” screen.

The A350’s Oryx entertainment system offers passengers up to 2,000 entertainment options in both classes. It also has LED mood lighting and in-flight Wi-Fi.

The carrier currently operates the high-tech Airbus on routes to Frankfurt, Munich, Singapore, Philadelphia, and Boston. In addition, the airline plans to begin A350 service to Adelaide, Australia next month.
