WestJet Encore Begins Toronto-Boston Flights, First Ever International Service
WestJet Encore, a low cost carrier and subsidiary of WestJet, announced the launch of new service between Boston and Toronto. The service is the carrier’s first route to the United States, as well as its first route to operate outside of Canada.
The airline will operate the service three times daily, with flights departing Toronto Pearson International Airport at 7:05 a.m., 12:20 p.m., and 5:40 p.m., arriving at Boston’s Logan International Airport at 8:42 a.m., 1:55 p.m., and 7:15 p.m., respectively. From Boston, flights are scheduled to depart at 9:25 a.m., 2:40 p.m., and 8 p.m., and arrive in Toronto at 11:30 a.m., 4:45 p.m., and 10:05 p.m.
The carrier will use Bombardier Q400 NextGen aircraft to operate the service. The planes are configured to accommodate 78 passengers in an all-coach, 3-3 layout.
WestJet Encore also announced that it plans to launch its second route to the United States in June, with service to Nashville, Tennessee.
