Hyatt Hotels announced the opening of a new property in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro is located on the beach in the Barra da Tijuca section of the city.

The property offers 436 guestrooms, 40 of which are suites, each with views of the Atlantic Ocean or the Marapendi Lagoon. Brazilian flip-flops and Granado bath amenities are provided for guests.

The hotel features a vertical garden in the lobby, as well as mosaic floors and is decorated with local artwork. The property also hosts an outdoor pool and a 24-hour fitness center.

A spa is located on the premises and offers six single and three couples’ suites with private showers. The spa also provides a relaxation lounge and steam rooms.

Guests have the option to dine at the hotel’s three restaurants, including Tano Cucina Italiana, a modern Italian trattoria with a seasonal menu; Shiso, a Japanese sushi bar; and Cantô Gastrô and Lounge, an establishment serving local Brazilian cuisine.

The property offers over 21,530 square feet (2,000 square meters) of meeting and event space, including two ballrooms, nine meeting rooms, and two loft kitchen areas.

The hotel is the second Grand Hyatt property to open in Brazil.
