The Ryokan Collection, which represents 32 properties in Japan, announced the launch of a guest loyalty program as well as a local experience program.

The guest loyalty program allows travelers to earn a one-night stay after completing ten stays at three or more properties over a two-year period. Other benefits include discounts on purchases made from local sake breweries and art galleries.

The group also announced a local experience program intended to convey the spirit of omotenashi, or Japanese hospitality, through immersion in local culture. Guests will gain access to private art galleries, one-on-one meetings with local artists, private tours of a sake brewery in the region, and special dining experiences that include dining on the grounds of a local temple.

In addition to the two programs, the Ryokan Collection will offer items, handcrafted by local artisans, for sale to their guests. These items include yukata, a casual Japanese garment, pottery, and sake. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the artisan when purchasing some of the items.
