DSC_0289Icelandair announced that it plans to begin new service to Paris Orly Airport on March 28.

The route will complement the carrier’s flights to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. When the new service begins, the airline will offer 23 weekly flights to the City of Light, including 17 to Charles de Gaulle and up to six to Paris Orly.

Paris Orly Airport will be the carrier’s 27th destination in Europe.

Icelandair has operated flights to Paris for over 40 years, having originated service to the city with flights to Orly. The carrier later transitioned those flights to Charles de Gaulle.

Orly is located eight miles (12 kilometers) south of the city. The airport offers access to two RER high-speed metro train lines from its two terminals.
