DSC_0664 (2)Air Canada and the union representing its flight dispatchers announced that the union’s members have ratified a new contract.

Members of the Canadian Airline Dispatchers Association approved a 12-year agreement, the airline said Friday.

The contract with the dispatchers is the seventh that the airline has reached with various workgroups. Last November, the Montreal-based airline’s flight attendants approved a new ten-year contract and the airline’s pilots ratified a ten-year agreement in late 2014.

“These agreements provide Air Canada with added stability and flexibility to support long-term and profitable growth at the airline that is beneficial for all stakeholders,” said Calin Rovinescu, the airline’s CEO.

The Canadian Airline Dispatchers Association represents flight dispatchers at four different airlines in Canada. Flight dispatchers at the airline are based at Air Canada’s operations center near Toronto Pearson International Airport and provide assistance to pilots in preparation for flight departures and arrivals.
