Porsche plans to break ground later this spring for a new hotel that will be part of the Porsche Experience Center.

The hotel, which will be managed by Capella Hotel Group, will open its doors as a Solís-branded property in 2017 at Two Porsche Drive. It will be the first new hotel on the east side of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport since the opening of the new International Terminal in 2012.

The hotel is being designed by HOK, an architectural firm, with interior design by Peter Silling and Associates. It will have multiple bars and restaurants, 6,500 square feet (604 square meters) of event space including a 3,600-square-foot (334-square-meter) ballroom, and a rooftop lounge with panoramic views of the automaker’s 1.6-mile (2.6-kilometer) track.

Solís has properties in County Donegal, Ireland; Nanjing, China; and Sochi, Russia. It plans to open a new hotel in Bali, Indonesia in 2017 and hotels in Doha, Qatar and Guanzhou, China, are on the drawing board as well.

Last July, Porsche opened Restaurant 356 at the Experience Center. The restaurant features panoramic views of one of the airport’s runways as well as of the automaker’s track.
