Hainan Airlines announced the launch of new service between Los Angeles and Changsha, the capital city of Hunan Province, China. The route is the carrier’s eighth to North America.

Flights will depart Changsha Huanghua International Airport at 1 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays, and arrive at Los Angeles International Airport at 10:35 a.m. From Los Angeles, flights will depart at 12:35 p.m., also on Mondays and Thursdays, and will arrive in Changsha at 7:20 p.m. the next day.

Hainan Airlines will operate the service using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft equipped with 36 lie-flat seats in business class and 177 seats in economy. Business-class seats are 22.5” wide and have a pitch of 74”.

Changsha is located in south-central China. The city has a population of over seven million people and is known for its rare collection of excavated Western Han dynasty tombs, the Mawangdui.
