Earlier in the day, the breakfast menu included a variety of muffins and bagels (there’s a toaster available), as well as porridge and eggs.

The bar featured a wide variety of local wines from the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Monterey, and Livermore Valley. The bartender will provide a flight of wines upon request.

BOTTOM LINE

While the new Delta Sky Club is a significant improvement over its pre-security predecessor, that only begins to tell the story. The friendly staff and inviting atmosphere, combined with interesting works of art and a variety of things to eat and drink, make it an excellent place to pass the time while waiting for a flight. I haven’t spent that much time in a single lounge in a long time (I’m thinking a Pan Am layover in London 20 years ago) and I was happy that the new Sky Club was there as a comfortable refuge when weather in the Midwest disrupted flight operations to all points east.
