American Sees Record Profit in Q4

DSC_0980American Airlines Group announced financial results for the fourth quarter of 2015.

The airline reported a record profit of $3.3 billion, which included a $3 billion net special credit resulting from the reversal of the carrier’s tax valuation.

Total revenue for the quarter was down 5.2% to $9.6 billion, while the airline’s total revenue for the year was $41 billion, which was also down from last year, with a decrease of 3.9%.

American Airlines Group was formed by the merger of American Airlines’ parent AMR and US Airways Group in late 2013.
