American Reports Rise in November Traffic, Expects Drop in Prasm for Q4
American Airlines Group announced operational results for November 2015.
Consolidated system traffic for the airline was 16.9 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, up 4.3% from 16.2 billion in the same period last year. Consolidated capacity was 20.76 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, a 0.2% decrease from 20.8 billion the previous November.
The carrier’s consolidated load factor was 81.2%, up 3.5 percentage points from 77.7% in November 2014.
The carrier said it expects consolidated passenger revenue per available seat mile, or Prasm, for the fourth quarter of this year to be down by approximately 5% to 7% year-over-year.
The Fort Worth-based company, operating as both American Airlines and US Airways until mid October, was formed by the merger of AMR Corp. and US Airways Group in December 2013.
US Airways was officially shuttered on October 17, 2015. November 2015 was the first full month of operations as one airline.
