DSC_0083 (1)After extensive review and testing by both passengers and employees, United Airlines announced it will offer coffee from illycaffè on flights and in United Club lounges.

The carrier will offer illy’s scuro dark roast as well as espresso in United Clubs in the continental United States starting in December, and other lounges will offer illy coffee in 2016. The scuro dark roast will be available on United flights starting next summer.

The partnership with illy will help “make the world feel a bit smaller” and make flying “that much more special, simply by way of a perfect cup of coffee, said Jimmy Samartzis, the airline’s vice president of food services.

Illy was founded in 1933 and is based in Trieste, Italy. It uses Arabica beans from Brazil, Central America, India, and Africa for its coffee.
