Lufthansa Launches Virtual Globetrotter Travel Game
Lufthansa unveiled Virtual Globetrotter, an online game that allows players to travel around the world while testing geography skills.
Points are earned by flying a plane to a specific destination that is also a Lufthansa gateway, and are based on time and accuracy. In addition, more points may be earned by completing challenges about each destination.
The game starts with a “world map adventure” that included a quiz about a German city. Additional points can be earned by playing the flight simulator, where the challenge is to navigate an aircraft through the sky while collecting objects for points while at the same time not causing turbulence.
The game is divided into zones and Germany is the first zone, followed by Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North and South America. The remaining four zones will be unlocked, one at a time, over the next two weeks.
One player will win a grand prize that includes a round-trip flight to Germany on Lufthansa as well as a flight simulator experience at a Lufthansa Flight Training Center. Players must complete all zones by December 18, 2015 to be entered to win the grand prize.
The Virtual Globetrotter game can be used from a desktop computer, a tablet, and a smartphone and is open to residents of the United States.
