DSC_0498Delta Air Lines announced it will offer Alessi serviceware, including dishes, flatware, glassware, and other service items, on board its flights starting in 2017.

The serviceware will be designed by Alessi in the coming months in collaboration with Delta’s service teams, and will go through ideation, design, and testing phases before being rolled out in mid-2017.

“It’s balancing functionality and poetry and functionality and art, “ said Paolo Cravedi, Alessi’s managing director for North America, in a video statement. “We hope that our collection will really bring this element of not just service but hospitality on board.”

“The key to a truly memorable in-flight service and culinary experience starts with the very product the food is served on,” Cravedi added.
