Planning to fly somewhere for the Thanksgiving holiday? You are not alone.

DSC_0359 (1)Over 25.3 million passengers are expected to board a plane operated by a U.S. airline during the 12-day Thanksgiving travel period. That figure is the highest number since the Great Recession in 2008, according to airline industry trade group Airlines for America.

Airlines are increasing capacity and adding new routes for the additional 800,000 passengers, a 3% year-over-year increase from 2014.

Approximately 1.4 to 2.7 million people will fly between Friday, November 20 and Tuesday, December 1. Thanksgiving will be the lightest travel day, followed by Black Friday, while Sunday, November 29, will be the busiest.
