DSC_0825United Airlines has its third CEO in two months, albeit an acting one this time.

The world’s second largest airline by traffic named its general counsel, Brett J. Hart, to the position of acting CEO after the airline’s newly-appointed CEO, Oscar Munoz, 56, suffered a heart attack Thursday.

Hart will work closely with Henry L. Meyer III, the airline’s non-executive chairman, as well as with the airline’s current management team to run United in Munoz’ absence, according to a statement released by the airline.

Munoz had only been CEO for 37 days at the time he was hospitalized.

“Brett has taken on increasing responsibility beyond general counsel over the last few years in the operations and customer facing areas of the company,” said Meyer. “I am confident in his ability to continue to implement the company’s strategy and Oscar’s mission of bringing United’s people together around the shared purpose of becoming the best airline for our customers and employees.”
