Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota Unveils Renovation to Property
Ritz-Carlton announced the completion of an extensive property-wide renovation at the Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota in Florida.
The hotel’s 266 guestrooms were refurbished with a palette of soft blues and purples intended to evoke “flora and fauna” from the nearby Selby Botanical Gardens as well as from Sarasota sunsets. Rooms are decorated with artwork from local artists and students at the Ringling School of the Arts, also located in Sarasota, and furnished with mixture of contemporary and traditional furniture to commemorate the region as the winter home of Ringling Brothers Circus co-founder John Ringling, who moved the circus’ winter headquarters to Sarasota in 1927.
The property’s Club Level was redone with local photographs of seagulls and shore life, while the guestroom hallways and elevator lobbies were outfitted with carpets that continue the sunset theme.
The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota’s 12,000-square-foot (1,114-square-meter) ballroom was redecorated with carpets designed with star constellations reflecting in an abstract pattern, as well as crystal ballroom chandeliers that are interpretations of circus rings with patterns that, when illuminated, become artistic elements of the carpet.
