WestJet Begins Calgary-Houston Route

DSC_0514WestJet announced the launch of new service between Calgary and Houston, Texas. The carrier will operate the service six times a week.

Flights will depart Calgary International Airport at 10:25 a.m. and arrive at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport at 3:22 p.m. From Houston, flights will depart at 5:00 p.m. and arrive at 8:08 p.m. Flights do not operate on Saturdays.

WestJet will operate the service using Boeing 737-600 aircraft. The planes are equipped with 18 seats in economy plus, the airline’s premium economy lite sections, and 101 seats in economy. Seats in premium economy plus are 17” wide, with a pitch of 36” to 40”.

Earlier this year, WestJet began installing a new entertainment system on it fleet. The system, called WestJet Connect, will feature wireless Internet connectivity and over 450 movies and television programs on demand, and the airline said that it will have completed installation on its entire fleet by next year.
