Porter Airlines to Launch First Service to Florida

DSC_0972Porter Airlines announced that it will launch new seasonal service this winter between Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and Melbourne, Florida, a coastal city approximately 70 miles (112 kilometers) southeast of Orlando.

The route, which will operate between December 19, 2015 and April 30, 2016, will be the carrier’s first service to the state of Florida.

Flights are scheduled to depart Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport at 9:35 a.m. on Saturdays and arrive at Melbourne International Airport in Florida at 12:45 p.m.  From Melbourne, flights will depart at 1:35 p.m. and arrive in Toronto at 4:45 p.m.

Porter Airlines will operate the service using Bombardier Q400 aircraft. The planes are equipped with 74 seats in a one-cabin configuration.  Seats are 17” wide, and have a pitch of 32”.

In addition to the Toronto-Melbourne route, the carrier is scheduled to begin new service between Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and Pittsburgh International Airport on September 21.
