JetBlue Airways announced that it plans to launch new seasonal service between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Palm Springs, California, this winter.  The carrier will operate the service five times a week, from January 15, 2016 to May 1.

The route is subject to government approval.

The planned flights will depart New York at 7:45 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays, and arrive at Palm Springs International Airport at 10:56 p.m.  From Palm Springs, flights will depart at 11:49 p.m. on the same days, and arrive in New York at 7:43 a.m. the next morning.

The airline will operate the route using Airbus A320 aircraft, configured with 42 seats in Even More Space, the airline’s premium economy lite section, and 108 seats in coach.  Premium economy lite-seats are 17.8” wide, and have a pitch of 38” to 39”.

Palm Springs will become JetBlue’s ninth destination in California.
