JetBlue Reports Drop in Load Factor for August

DSC_0463JetBlue Airways announced operational results for August 2015.  The carrier saw an increase in its total traffic and capacity, with a decrease in its load factor.

The New York-based airline’s passenger traffic for the month was 3.967 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 6.7% from 3.72 billion RPMs in August of last year.

The carrier’s capacity also increased, up 8% to 4.559 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 4.211 billion ASMs in August 2014.

JetBlue’s passenger load factor for the month was 87%, a 1.3 percentage point decrease from 88.3% in the same month last year.
