InterContinental Hotels announced that it will open a new Hotel Indigo in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in winter 2016.  Located in the mixed-use community of Riverfront Village along the city’s Black Warrior River, the Hotel Indigo Tuscaloosa Downtown will be the first riverfront hotel in Tuscaloosa.

The hotel will have 91 guestrooms, each with hard-surface flooring, and what InterContinental calls “spa-inspired bathrooms.”  The property will also have approximately 1,000 square feet (92 square meters) of meeting and event space.

The hotel will have a 2,500-square-foot (232-square-foot) outdoor terrace, which will offer views of the Black Warrior River and Tuscaloosa Amphitheater.  A fitness center and business center will also be located on the premises.

In the lobby will be the brand’s neighborhood guide, an interactive touchscreen display where guests can explore the local neighborhood and other Hotel Indigo properties around the world.
