British Airways Plane Catches Fire in Las Vegas
A British Airways jet had a fire Tuesday afternoon at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.
The Boeing 777 was bound for London Gatwick as Flight 2276. No injuries were reported, according to a statement released by the airport.
The aircraft had 159 passengers and 13 crew members. Two minor injuries were reported and one runway remains out of service at McCarran.
The plane was evacuated via its slides and the aircraft’s fuselage is noticeably blackened.
“Fire has been put out,” the airport reported at 4:22 p.m. local time via its Twitter feed.
